Now brokers, agents, landlords, management companies will have the ability to syndicate real estate listings to aggregators such as Zillow, Trulia, HotPads, Trovit, and others from your WordPress website.
For a long time I have been on the search for a real estate plugin for WordPress that could feed aggregators such as Zillow, Trulia, RentHop, Postlets, and others so I could syndicate my listings without using a third-party service or manually adding every listings to each site. I had little experience with WordPress Plugin development but decided to go ahead and try to build a plugin which would work for my site.
Instead of building it from scratch, I found a plugin that would be a good starting point, which was good because it gave me the basis of how to properly structure and format a WordPress Plugin. So far, I have a working prototype called: WPRLS Which stands for WordPress Real Estate Listings Syndicator.
I also have to give a big thanks to Jason Murray for his help and guidance when I was stumped.
What it does:
The plugin is designed to create an XML File so real estate aggregators can syndicate listings from your WordPress powered website.
The current version only supports one specific theme but can be easily customized to work with any WordPress template or theme that has real estate listings.
The following list of aggregators should accept feeds from your WordPress website*
With many more to come.
*Every Aggregator has different rules for accepting feeds, make sure your compliant.
